WCSD School Counseling Mission Statement

The WCSD School Counseling program supports students socially, emotionally, and academically to enhance school achievement, to ensure all students reach their full potential; become productive members of our community and are lifelong learners.

In the Wappingers Central School District, the School Counseling Department works to ensure a safe learning environment that promotes tolerance and acceptance of all students. Counselors serve as a resource for students, parents, and teachers alike, helping to address some of the everyday challenges facing our students. Together, counselors work in collaboration with students and parents to ensure student success in the areas of academics, career planning, and personal goal setting.

The goal of the JJHS School Counseling Department is to foster the personal, social, and academic growth of each of our students. While doing well academically is of the utmost importance, it is also important that our students grow to be responsible, caring and educated citizens of society. Each of the school counselors is committed to helping each student perform to the best of their academic ability and to encourage a positive school experience.
